Managing Groups and Events using OEM

and an event�s item. The following is a

In this
exercise you will learn how to create a
group and assign a databases to it, create
an event to check the databases if they are
up or down using the Oracle Enterprise
Management tool (OEM).
Expand the Group item. Notice that there are
no groups.
Highlight "Group", and click on the "Create"
icon.
In the create window, make sure that the
Group item is highlighted then click
"Create."
In the Create Group window, enter the group
name.
Select your background picture.
Select the databases to the "Targets"
window.
On the "Access" tab, make sure the right
user has full access.
On the "View" tab, locate the database icon
on where they physically are placed.
Then create the Group item.
The group was created.
Highlight the YOURGROUPNAME group.
On the Event menu, click "Create Event"
Enter the event name, then select the
database to have a red flag if the database
is down and have a green flag if the
database if up and running.
On the Tests tab, expand the fault item and
select the "Database UpDown" test.
On the "Parameters" tab, notice that no
parameter is needed.
On the "Schedule" tab, check the event every
minute.
On the "Access" tab, notify the supper user
(SYSMAN). Then, click on the Show
Notification Schedule" button.
On the "Notification Schedule" window,
notify the SYSMAN user from 6:00a.m to
7:00pm every day.
Then close the window.
Now, register the event and add it to the
repository library.
To enforce to see the green or red flag,
refresh the console.
Notice that the green flag were displayed.
The green flag indicates the database is up
and running.
